The Ramaougeries

In Maen-Roch, the association Les Ramaougeries keeps an ancestral Breton tradition alive: that of «pommé», a slowly cooked apple paste with rich, deep aromas, formerly known as 'poor man's butter'.
Every autumn, residents, friends and volunteers gather around the cauldron to peel, tend the fire and stir tirelessly for hours. This collective work brings back to life a traditional farming know-how, passed down in good spirits, wood smoke... and the aromas of caramelised apples.
The Ramaougeries pommé is a concentrate of conviviality, long time, and living memory, to spread and share.
